In the earlier version, the pockets only had flaps to keep the tools inside. Pens and other small items were falling out because they weren’t well secured. It also took too long to access the pens and start writing. So in this version, I used zippered compartments for the small and large pockets and elastics for the pens. Since the pens are now next to the notebook, it increases the height of the bag, so I added an inner back pocket for my 12.9” iPad.
