This actually evolved from a previous version where I simply sewed a zippered pouch and carry handles onto a hardcover wire-bound sketchbook. I wanted to be able to carry around a notebook that I can easily access, with paper I like to use. The notebook is a custom disc bound notebook, where the pages can be easily sorted and rearranged. I also wanted to integrate craft supplies and my phone, wallet, and keys that I carry around. So this was a first attempt at making a bag that was also a book.
